EMPIRE FILM LIBRARY.

SCOTT’S POLAR EPIC ADDED. (British Official Wireless). Received March 2, 9.5 a.m. RUGBY, March I. The Duke of York formally accepted on behalf of the State the cinematograph him “Epic of the South Pole,” which records the last great exploration of Captain Scott in the Antarctic. This is the first contribution to the Empire Library for British Films, which is being formed as a permanent pictorial record of the principal events of the age, and which is the first library of its kind to be established in any country. The gift was offered to the nation on behalf of the trustees who had acquired it, by Rear-Admiral Evans, who was second in command to Captain Scott during his last expedition. It is anticipated that the library will shortly acquire for the national archives the films of the funeral of King Edward, the Coronation of King George, and the Prince of Wales’s tours.
