TASMANIAN HORROR.

EVIDENCE OF SINISTER TRAGEDY.

LAUNCESTON, Feb. 27.

There is evidence of a sinister tragedy in connection with the discovery of the charred bodies of Thomas Archer and his wife and five children, which were discoverd in the ruins of a cottage destroyed by fire yesterday. A single-barrelled gun was found under the body of Thomas Archer. The gun contained a discharged cartridge. A razor was also found on a bed. A brief bag was found in the garden containing a barely-decipherable note, ending: “Good-bye, Tom.”
