Mr H. A. Parker, of Sydney, arrived in Auckland by the Niagara on a visit to the Dominion. Mr Parker is a former Australian and New Zealand tennis champion.
Mr W. Goodfellow, managing director of the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Company, Limited, left Auckland by the Niagara for Vancouver. He will return to New Zealand at the end of April.
Mr C. O. Morse, chairman, Dr H. M. Wilson, and Mr E. T. Rees, secretary, have been appointed the Hawke’s Bay Hospital Board’s delegates to the Hospital Boards’ Conference in Palmerston North next month. Messrs J. H. Stevens and S. Abrahams have been appointed to represent the Palmerston North branch of the Honorary Justices’ Association at the annual conference of the Federated Association, which will meet in New Plymouth during next month.
.Mr D. T. Allan, chief telegraph engineer at Palmerston North, leaves to-night to attend the opening of the new chateau by Hon. A. J. Stallworthy at the Tongariro National Park on Saturday. He will transact official business.
Sympathetic reference to Messrs J. Bett and G. Kendall in their illness was made at the annual meeting of the Palmerston North branch of the Honorary Justices’ Association yesterday, nnd wishes were expressed for tlieir early recovery. The death of Mr Thomas Milroy, one of the early members of the New Zealand railway service, occurred at his residence, Mount Eden, Auckland, this week. He was a member of the first executive of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants and later president. He was also a member of the Appeal Board.
