PROTEST AGAINST INCREASE

WANGANUI, Jan 16. The suggestion to increase the honoraria of members of Parliament lias not found favour in some branches of the public service. Following the resolution carried bv the Thorndon branch of the A.S.R.S. the Eastown branch of that body to-night adopted tho following motion : “That this meeting of the Eastown branch of the A.S.R.S. endorses the protest of '-he Tliorndon branch against the suggestion to increase parliamentarians’ honoraria unless all public servants who had ‘cuts’ inflicted on them under the Public Service Expenditure Adjustment Act have the said ‘cuts’ reytbred.”
