INFORMAL GATHERING.

LEGION OF FRONTIERSMEN. At the final meeting of the year of N. Squadron, Legion of Frontiersmen (Mianawatu), there were present a large muster of frontiersmen, many coming as far afield as Bulls and Woodville. An informal gathering, was held, and following the loyal toast various items were given and choruses reminiscent of war clays were heartily sung. The following contributed items during the evening: Messrs C. W. Tappett, D. Scrogie, D. O’Brien, W. Duckworth and Rikilmna. From the squadron secretary’s report it was shown that the Manawatu Squadron, which is the youngest in the New Zealand command, had made great progress both in membership and in finances. The right type were joining up and Manawatu Squadron was bidding fair to becoming the premier squadron of the New Zealand command. It was decided to hold the annual meeting during next month to be fol lowed by a smoke conoert.
