The Daily Express lias an extraordinary outburst in its editorial column, in which it refers to the fact that the crowd barracked England’s slow batting tactics. The Daily Express states:— “The barrackers, of course, were annoyed at Chapman’s decision, which gives the Australians the fourth innings on a worn wicket. Why shouldn’t lie!’ What it conies to is that this time our men are not going to make a mistake. “They are out to give Australia the biggest hiding she ever had. They are out not merely to keep the Ashes, but to double the padlock on the urn. “Chapman’s tactics concealed a deadly, merciless intent to break the opposition. In other words, he is leading his mon with the will to win. That is why they went to Australia.”
