BUNNYTHORPE.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) BUNNYTHORPE, Dec. 3. The Bunnythorpo Public Hall was a scene of groat activity when tho Ladies’ Guild of tho Methodist Church held their annual bazaar, which was opened by Mr G. Cobbc, M.P., in the afternoon. In declaring tho bazaar _ open, Mr Cobbo congratulated the ladies on tho well filled stalls, and wished them every success. During the afternoon tho stall holders were kept busy attending to the wants of the largo gathering. In the evening competitions of all kinds, nail driving, rifle shooting, etc., were indulged in and tho large attendance greatly helped to make the bazaar a success. About £35 was raised for church work and the Ladies’ Guild are to be complimented on the result of their effort. On Friday evening the Football and Hockey Clubs held tho final combined dance in tho Public Hall, the gathering being in every way a success. Tho combined committee are to be .congratulated on making the last danco of the season so enjoyable. On Saturday afternoon there was a large attendance on the Bunnythorpo tennis courts for tho official opening. Clubs from around the district wero well represented. Mr J. Linklatcr, M.P., patron of the club, in declaring tho courts open for the season, referred to the appointments of the ground and wished the club every success. A number of friendly games wore played and the ladies of the club provided afternoon tea which was greatly enjoyed. A pleasant time was spent by all the players. . The friends of Mrs S. Wiggins and Mr J. Haggett, of Hiwinui, Bunnythorpo, will regret to hear that they are inmates of tho Palmerston North Hospital. Tho glaxo factory intends to. stop drying at an early date when they will confine their efforts to making cheeso and casein.
