V.C. HERO AWARDED DAMAGES. (United Press Association— By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) (Australian Press Association.) Received November 21, 9.5 a.m. LONDON, Nov. 20. Lieutenant Leonard Keysor, the Australian V.C., was awarded Lb<s damages against G. B. Samuelson, a film producer, for damages for injuiies received during the filming of a reenactment of a bombing episode at Gallipoli. It was for this episode that Lieutenant Keysor was decorated. Plaintiff’s case was that in consideration of £75 per week he went to a studio at Isle worth, in Middlesex. Smoke bombs and gunpowder were used in the reproduction of the trench scene.

The deed which made Lieutenant Keyscr famous was performed at Lone Pino on August 7 and 8, 1915, when he was a privato in the first battalion of the Australian Imperial Forces. With Private John Hamilton, and regardless of personal safety, he hurled bombs at the Turks. It is stated that in addition to throwing his own bombs, ho picked up two live ones which had como to earth, and sent them hack to the enemy trenches, being wounded in tho process. On the following day ho continued to indulge in what appeal's to have been his favourite pastime to such an extent as to drive the Turks out of .a position. He would' not go to the hospital, and was so anxious to keop up his bombardment that ho offered to throw bombs for another company .which had lost its bombers.
