NOTICE is hereby given that it is the intention of the Kairanga County Council to borrow the sum of Five thousand pounds (£5000) under the provisions of the “Local Bodies Loans Act, 1926” for a period of Fifteen (15) years at a rate of interest not to exceed Five pounds Fifteen shillings (£5 15s) per centum per annum and to provide for the repayment thereof by establishing a Sinking Fund of Four pounds Twelve shillings and Six pence (£4 12s 6d) per centum per annum, for the purpose of:— Completing the widening and remetalling of Foxton Line and treating surface with tar and asphalts and also the Ridings share of completing the widening and re-metalling of Rangitikei Line and treating surface with tar and asphalts. And for the payment of interest on euch sum and the repayment of principal the Kairanga County Council proposes to make a Special Rate of Eighty-four One Thousandths (84/1000ths) of a penny in the pound over all rateable property in the whole of the Taonui Riding. Such rate to be an annually recurring rate for fifteen (15) years or until the loan is fully paid off. The cost of raising the said loan is to be paid out of the loan but no portion of the interest or Sinking Fund shall bo paid out of the Loan. AND a Poll will be taken on THURSDAY, the 27th day of September, 1928. between the hours" of 9 a_.ua. and 6 p.m. for the purpose of obtaining the ratepayers consent to such loan.
