BASELESS RUMOUR.

REPORTED FIND OF ’PLANE. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Sept. 19. Rumours have been current in the Nelson district of the finding by surveyors of a (plane and the bodies of Lieutenant Hood and Captain Moncrieff in the vicinity of the Franz Joseph glacier. Special inquiries have been made by the Tourist Department, to which the matter was referred. The department advises that there is nothing in the rumour.
