BUNNYTHORPE, Sept. 6

On Monday evening there was a large attendance in the Public Hall when a Maori missionary party connected with the Methodist Church gave an interesting entertainment, consisting of songs, hakes and poi dances in true Maori fashion. A talk was given by one of- the party on what has been dono for tho race by those connected with the missionary work. Tho following was tho result of the shoot which took place at the miniature rifle range on Monday evening: —J. Webber 68, 67, 135 F. Kosvell 68, 66, 134, L Raikes 67, 67, 134, 11. Hughes 68, 65, 133, J. Pakau 67, 66, 133, W. Salmon 67, 65 132, J. Baker 68, 64. 132, A. Pederson 64’ 67, 131, H. Gore 66, 65, 131, A. Gee 64! 65 129. 11. Robson 66, 63, 129, P. Hammond 63, 63, 126, C. Kgglcton 67, 59, 126. R. Mitchell 59, 63, 122. On Wednesday evening the Bunnythorpe Public Hall was crowded when the Bunnythorpe Ladies* Hockey Club tendered a social and dance to tho Taranaki touring hockey team. The evening i\as given over to dancing, recitations and musical items, and a most successful function resulted. During tho evening, Mr Aitchison, of tho Manawatu Hockey Association, thanked the local club for their efforts in making the gathering such a success. Air G. AI. Ranson responded on behalf of the club. The duties of AI.C. were carried out by Alessrs AI. Hanson and 11. Godfrey and a dainty supper was provided.
