COLYTON NOTES.
(From Our Own Correspondent). COLYTON, Sept. 5. On Saturday afternoon the annual football match between the members of the local club versus “The Rest” was played at Colyton, “Tho Rest” winning by 26 points to 18. In tho evening tho usual dance following tho match was held in the hall and a very pleasant evening was spent. The music was supplied by Air J. Dawson (piano) and Air C, Booth (violin), while Air G. Thurston acted as AI.C.
Colyton residents aro looking forward to the visit next Monday evening of the Rev. A. J. Seamen general superintendent of Alaori Missions, with his party of talented Alaori singers, orators .and musicians. These distinguished visitors are representatives of various _ groat tribes, and they will contribute strikingly novel and delightful ancient Alaori dances and hakas, waiatas, vocal items and instrumental music to a unique and educative programme. A delightful social evening was held at Arntika (Colyton) last Thursday evening, the occasion being tho annual meeting of the Aratika Presbyterian Church. Air Alarshall occupied tho chair and the following committee was elected : Airs Dungey, secretary: Air J. Walker (treasurer) ; Aliss Rolling and Air G. Wealloans. After tho business the company indulged in games, etc., while recitations by Air Marshall and Air 11. Allen were greatly appreciated. A dainty supper concluded a pleasant social gathering. Air Airs Keith Snndilands have left, this district to reside at Rangiotu. We wish them tho best of good luck in their new homo.
Miss Ai. urown, accompanied by Aliss Rice, of Wanganui, is spending the college vacation at her home at Waiata.
