Per Press Association. TIM ARC, Sept. 5.

Miss Flora McKenzie, aged 19 years, a member of the Southland hockey team, participating in the women’s championship tournament, died in hospital this morning. She was taken ill at a dance on Saturday, becoming unconscious', a condition from which she never recovered.

It is believed that the cause of death was spinal meningitis. All this morning’s games were postponed.
