APPLE AND DATE MERINGUE.
Stew together half a dozen cooking apples, }lb dates, J cup of sugar and the grated rind of one lemon. When cooked, set asicie to cool. Grease a piedish with butter and sprinkle with crystal sugar. Put the cool mixture in the dish and cover with the white of ono egg and one teaspoonful of sugar, beaten together. Bake in a slow oven till brown.
