COAL SUPPLIERS.
WHANGAREI AS BUNKERING PORT. DEPUTATION TO MINISTER. Per Press Association. WHANG AREI, Aug. 25. A movement to make Whangarei a coal-bunkering port was advanced another stop last night when the chairman of the whole of the local bodies in the district passed a resolution urging the Minister of Railways to place 100 Q waggons on the North Auckland railways for transportation of coal where required. An influential deputation was appointed to accompany the members for the district when waiting, on the Minister. Letters received by tho Harbour Board from overseas shipping to Auckland showed that as soon as facilities were provided ships would ho taken to bunker here. The coal supplies are of great extent.
