POHANGINA VALLEY.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) POII ANGINA, Aug. 23. Tho weekly meeting of tho Pohangina Valley Rifle Club was held on the Raumai range on Saturday afternoon. Weather conditions, wero favourable and some good shooting resulted in Rifleman W. Balmer putting up tho highest score. Mr A. Brook{ng's trophy was contested for. Mr R. W. Ramsay, of tho Linton Rillo Club, paid ! a. visit to tho local range and in a trial shoot made tho high scoro of 66 ovor two ranges. Following are details of tho scores: — 500 600

For i tho Robert handicap aggregate, Rfm. D. ! Spelman, 380; Rfm. I). Balrnor, 378; Rfm. I w. Balmer, 377; Rfm. C. Spelman, 369; 1 Rfm. L. Hunt, 369; Rfm. Spelman, 364. During tho weok-end a team representing Wanganui visited Raumai to meet tho ‘ Valley team in a match on tho local range. | Tho inclemency of tho weather interfered a good deal with the match, heavy rain falling at times during the shoot.
