FATAL COLLISION.
MOTOR BUS IN FLAMES
SIX PASSENGERS DEAD
(United Service.) Received August 22, 9.5 a.m. VANCOUVER, Aug. 20. Reports from Minneapolis state that six were burned to death when a highspeed bus, bound for Chicago, plunged into a ditch and took lire. There were ten passengers in tlie conveyance. Tho big motor car was turning a corner when it collided with a truck. Fed by tlie fuel from the broken .gasoline tank the llames enveloped the victims. Even chemical extinguishers operated by firemen failed against tho flames.
Walter Pickard, a pugilist, saved two of the passengers. He pulled them through a window, though he himself had a broken arm.
Several of the victims were knocked unconscious by tho collision; they could be seen through the flames sitting upright in their seats, with their heads merely slumped over.
It was two hours after tho collision that the charred remains were removed.
