Air Aiacpherson reported that the whole of tho originally planned concrete work for the school had now been laid down. Commenced "only last season, tho vyork had been estimated to take about Jive years to complete, but had now been accomplished,. The estimated cost of £IO6O would not be exceeded, though exact figures were not available. Shrubs and trees to beautify the grounds would bo planted in the course of a week or two. The committee was aiming at the beautification of the grounds and interior, and had in tho space of about fifteen months raised £550 for this purpose. In addition to work in the grounds, about £l2O had been spent in interior decoration and beautification, and this amount, as well as what was spent on the grounds, would carry a Government subsidy of £1 for £l. The headmaster iiad written to a society in- England that reproduced fino works of art, mostly academy pictures or the works of old masters. It was hoped to obtain eight or ten of these reproductions per year and so secure a good selection for tho school.
