BRAZILIAN NATIVES.
PAID IN FAKE MONEY. SERIOUS DISORDERS OCCUR. (Australian Press Association —United Service). RIO DE JANEIRO, Aug. 13. Tho diamond regions in the States of Matto Grosso and Goyaz have been thrown into .an uproar by rioting prospectors. Several towns have been looted and a number of murders committed by enraged natives, who claim that they have been paid by grubstakers in counterfeit money. The prospectors have turned bandits and have started an intensive search for persons who cheated them with fako money. Fights have occurred between bandits and police, and soldiers and bandits. One police commander and several soldiers have been killed.
]\latto Grosso is .an inland State of Brazil bordering on Bolivia. Goyaz is the central province of Brazil, rising in the south to an important range of mountains.
