AUSTRALIAN RINKS.
TO COMPETE IN DOMINION TOURNAMENT.
A cablegram from Sydney recently gave details of a match played by two New Zealand rinks against two New South Wales teams on the Balmain bowling green. It was at tlie invitation of the president of the New South Wales Bowling Association, Mr J. Scott, that the two New Zealand rinks met two of liis own selection at Balmain. The match resulted. New Zealand plavers being mentioned first: Davis, Scott, Reid, H. Nash (skip) 24 v. Lane, R. Richardson, Auland, B. Harrison (skip) 10; Pulling, Guthrie, Casev. Ball (skip) 13 v. Spence Rossi’ter, ‘Collins, Scott (skip) 13. Totals: New Zealand 37, New South Wales 33. At the afternoon tea adjournment, Mr Scott mentioned that he was endeavouring to bring across to New Zealand for the Dominion tournament in Wellington six rinks representative of the Australian States. Replying on behalf of the New Zealand bowlers, Mr Nash stated that not only would ho mention the matter orally on his return to the Dominion, but that he would be pleased to give it newspaper publicity. The decision of the Australian bowlers would be greatly welcomed in New Zealand. The New Zealand visitors-received a very hearty welcome at Balmain from the club president. Captain Auland.
