MAORIS BEFORE COURT.

Per Press Association. GISBORNE. Aug. 13. A series of burglaries up the East Coast had its squel at the Port Awanui Police Court to-day, when several Maoris appeared before Justices of the Peace and admitted the offences. George Taiapu pleaded guilty to breaking, entering and theft of saddles from a saddler’s shop at likitiki on July 30. George Taiapu Homareo Te Maro and Charles V ard were charged with breaking, entering and theft, from the Wa.omatatmi store on July 22, the goods being valued at £2l George Taiapu was also charged with entering the Tikitiki store on Julv 13 and stealing goods to value of '£22 and with entering a store at Waiomata'tini and stealing goods o value of £2. AH the accused pleaded guilty, and were committed to the Supreme Court for sentence.
