Heat 3, WeightmanSmith (South Africa) 1, Marehand (France) 2. ' Heat 4, Anderson America) 1, Wennstroen (Sweden) 2. Heat 5, Leighton Dye (America) 1, Atkinson (South Africa) 2. Heat 6, Lucas (Britain) 1, Steinliardt (Germany) 2. Heat 7, Collier (America) 1, S. Joested (Finland) 2. Heat 8, Gaby (Britain) 1, Petterson (Sweden) 2. Watson (Australia) was third, despite his lameness, but he failed to qualify. Heat 9, Mild (Japan) 1, Lord Burghley (Britain) 2. Weightman-Smith’s time in tho third heat was 14 4-ssec, which equals the world’s record.
Kalaugher, the New Zealander, was fourth in the second heat, but he failed to qualify. 100 METRES, LADIES. (Final.) Miss Robinson (America) ... 1 Miss Rosenfekl (Canada) 2 Miss Srhith (Canada) 3 Won by afoot. Time, 12 l-ssec. 110 METRES HURDLES. (Semi-final.) Dye (America) 1 Anderson (America) ... 2 Weightman-Smith 3 Dye broke the record and Anderson equalled it. The winner’s time was 14 3-ssec. Lord Burghley was eliminated. WRESTLING CONTESTS. .
Results in the first round of the wrestling contests are as follow: Bantamweight. Piguet (Switzerland) defeated Ford (Australia), in 38sec.
Middleweight. Kyburg (Switzerland) defeated Bolger (Australia), in 2min 17sec.
Welterweight.—Morris had a bye in the first round. In the second he was outpointed by Heavisto (Finland)
