LETTER TO MAYOR.
THANKS AND APPRECIATION.
FROM JAPANESE OFFICERS,
The Mayor, Mr A. J. Graham, has received the following letter, expressing appreciation of the hospitality extended to himself .and his officers on the occasion of their visit to Palmerston. North last week, from Commander Togo, who was in charge of-the visiting party:— “Dear Sir, —I must express on behalf of the officers who accompanied mo to Palmerston North my best, thanks .and appreciation for the courtesies which you and councillors and citizens extended to us. It is needless to say how much wo enjoyed the short time we spent with you. Even on such a hurried visit to the Manawatu district it is apparent to me that the future holds wonderful possibilities for progress and development and we sincerely trust that the prosperity of vour town will be in all proportion to the growth of such a wonderfully rich •and fertile district. With renewed personal thanks for your kind invitation to visit Palmerston North and for all you did to mako our brief stay so enjoyable.-—Yours very sincerely, J. Togo, Lieut. Commander.” <
