EYE-GLASSES AND HATS.
The woman who wears spectacles, whether of the rimless kind or those with heavy rims of tortoiseshell, should avoid pinning crystal or diamond brooches in front of her hat or wearing crystal or diamond ear-rings. Pearls or dull stones are a much better choice, and the shape had preferably not be a round or oval that suggests a repetition of the eyeglass. A brooch had better bo fastened in the crown of the hat above one ear rather than above the eye. Shining round trimmings such as a motif of silver tissue should likewise be avoided.
A hat should bo chosen with a brim —not one that absolutely hides the face —but with a slightly rolled edge.
