FULLERS’ “LEAGUE OF NOTIONS.’
TO-NIGHT AT OPERA HOUSE. * To-night, at the Opera House Messrs John Fuller and Sons, Ltd., will present Alike Connor’s and Quccnic Paul's. “League, of Notions” Revue Company which has just completed a phenomenal J.O weeks’ season at His Majesty's Theatre, Wellington, and where the company achieved a success even greater than that of the famous Midnight Enolics. This has been acclaimed throughout the Press notices as the most talented (individually and collectively) revue company that has ever made its appearance in New Zealand. Linn Smith’s Jirtz Band, a symphony combination of six brilliant jazz and operatic exponents, is, in itself, almost sufficient" entertainment to cover an evening’s pleasure,- but with the . additional variety items supplied by the big caste of revue artists, the performance promises to bo an entertainment long to be remembered. “League of Notions” implies variety—variety of uncommon divertissement, and unquestionably Mike Connors and Queen io Paul’s company lives up to its title. Syd. Beck, the comedian, who toil weeks ago was new to New Zealand audiences, jumped constantly into favour and during the long Wellington season proved the- most popular comedian ever brought to New Zealand by the Fullers’. The very latest jazz airs and favourite operatic tunes will be supplied by Linn Smith’s Jazz Band, and the popular songs of the moment will bo sung by the inimitable duo, Alike Connors and Quccnic Paul. Los Pearce, the great baritone singer of the company, is well-known in New Zealand and a great reception is always given this popular performer. Specialty dancers of a high-class order are Rougal and Ravne, and the Paulasto Bros, provide unusually clever eccentric dances. Phyllis Baker and Gerald Connelly present the very latest jazz novelties and Gladys Shaw is an accomplished and forceful whistler. The Exquisite Six, a charming: ballet of attractive girls, arc the acme of speed and perfection in a number of ensembles. The box plan is now rapidly filling at the Opera House.
