GERMANY DESIRES PEACE,

IN MIDST OF ARMED NATIONS

(Australian Press Association.) LONDON, July 4. The speech made in the Reichstag by Herr Muller, the Chancellor, set at rest any fears of a change in foreign policy. The remarks relating to the policy may be summarised by the names, Locarno, Geneva and Kellogg. Herr Muller declared that the elections had proved that the foundations of the German Republic were now firm and unshakable; Germany, had renounced all. idea of revenge, but “it must be made clear to the world that the position whereby Germany stands disarmed in the midst of nations armed to teeth is impossible. Herr Muller hinted that the issue would be raised prominently at the next meeting of the League of Nations.
