FRENCH BOMBING ’PLANE
SEVERAL DISASTERS. OFFICER KILLED IN CRASH. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) (Australian Press Association—United Service.) Received June 15, 11.10 a.m. PARIS, June 14. Twenty-one bombing ’planes were flying from Nancy to Lo Bourget, when between midnight and three a.m. a sudden storm struck the formation in the neighbourhood of Paris. Oidy four reached Le Bourget. The fifth, carrying four people, crashed at the edge of the aerodrome, but the occupants were not injured. A twin motor ’plane capsized on landed near Meaux. The machine was destroyed, but the crow escaped. Lieutenant Picard’s ’plane overturned. His pilot liad a parachute and descended safely. Lieutenant. Picard had no parachute and had to remain in the machine, which crashed, the aviator being killed. Four ’planes were damaged on landing toward Beauvais and Chantilly.
