FAILURE TO APPEAR.
BONDSMAN HAS TO PAY £IOO. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, June 14. As the result of Arthur Hobbs disappearing and failing to answer two charges against him in 'die Magistrate’s Court, Thomas YVeatherburn, the licensee of the Dominion Hotel, who. went bail for him, is required to pay the Crown £IOO. Hobbs was a canter in the employ of a firm of city merchants. lie was charged with omitting to account for £6 4s and also with the theft of 500 boxes of butter valued at £2OOO. He was remanded, YVeatherburn going surety for £250. Hobbs disappeared, but as YVeatherburn has assisted the police to ascertain his whereabouts tho magistrate, Mr Page, ordered him to pay over £IOO of tho bail money.
