PERSONAL.
Among the passengers on the Niagara which arrived at Suva to-day en route to Auckland, is Sir James Gunson, formerly Mayor of Auckland.
Bishop West-YY atson, of Chris.church, has been nominated as the Governor-General’s representative on the Canterbury College Board of Governors in place of Hon. L. M. Isitt, who did not seek re-election.
Mr H. R. Chalmers, manager of tho Palmerston North branch of the Bank of New Zealand, who has- been transferred to Auckland, will be assistant manager there. Mr G. YY hitelaw, Auckland assistant manager, has been promoted to ’inspector.
