BASKET BALL.

The mid-week competition of the Palmerston North Ladies’ Basket Ball Association was continued yesterday when some largo scores were registered, results being as follow: —Higli School A 26 v. C and C. 7; High School B 10 v. P.D.C. 9; Convent A 19 v. Convent D 2: Y.W.C.A. 8 v. Y.M. Gymnasium 7; Coil von t C 3 v. Convent B’l. At a meeting of the executive on Monday evening an entry was received from another team for the Saturcray competition. Though the time for entries had closed it was decided to take tho nomination, as there was a bye in the competition. This now makes a total of 14 teams playing during the week-end.

A meeting of referees and coaches was held last evening when the new rules were thoroughly discussed and officially adopted. Miss Brown, of tho Girls’ High School staff, has been elected vicepresident of tho association.
