DAIRYMEN MEET.
MANAWATU AND WEST COAST
ASSOCIATION
Mr S. H. Broadbelt presided over a meeting of tho Manawatu and West Coast Dairy Association this morning, when there were also present: Messrs H. E. Pacey, Tiros. Hanford, J. W. Teale and P. Hansen. Reporting on the work being done by tho committee set up to provide for the entertainment of delegates to tho National Dairy Association conference next week, Mr H. E. Pacey said that arrangements were well in hand. A trip had been laid out to embrace Flock House, Girls’ Flock House, the racecourse, Manawatu Gorge and Esplanade. The entertainment committee was a Iso officially identified with the smoke concert being conducted by the Show authorities.
A certain difficulty had been found in obtaining a suitable number of cars for the drives, but it was anticipated that sufficient would be secured. Delegates and their wives would bo entertained at tho Kosy Theatre on any night during their visit that they might desire. The Golf Club had kindly invited visitors to make use of the links. So far as could be seen the arrangements would prove satisfactory and Palmerston North would have no need to ho ashamed of the hospitality extended to their guests. Tli© question of what attitude tho association intended to take towards the killing and marketing of young calves was raised by the chairman, on whose motion it. was decided to write to the South Island dairy factories enquiring the success of tiie practice in the south. The matter will be further considered at the annual meeting of tho association.
