SUPPRESSION OF NAME REFUSED

Per Press Association. HOKITIKA, May 24

Following two motor cars colliding on the Arahura Road at five o’clock last evening William Harold Shaw, a commercial traveller, appeared in the Magistrate’s Court charged with being intoxicated while in charge oi a car. The police evidence showed that the collision occurred on a 24 foot road in spite of the efforts of the other driver, the defendant ear swinging across almost at right angles into the other car' which was carrying a team of hockey girls. Both ears were badly smashed" about the front wheels, mudguards and running boards; but none of the occupants was injured. „ Defendant was fined £lO and costs. Suppression of his name was refused.
