KILTS WANTED.

500 GLASGOW PIPERS

SCOTTISH PAGEANT

LONDON, Alay 13. ' “A hundred pipers an’ a’ an’ a’ ” will be eclipsed by a stirring Glasgow pageant from Juno 23 to Juno 29, entitled “To Story of the West,” which the Australian-Seot tourists will arrive in time to witness. Seven thousand people, including 500 pipers—the largest assemblage ever seen or beard

—will participate. The difficulty is in supplying kilts, which are scarce and expensive. This has given an opportunity for a competition which is familiar at Scottish gatherings—“ The best Scotsman dressed at his own expense.” Thousands of business girls will participate. The orchestra will be 100 strong, and tlie choir 500. “Bonnie Prince Charlie” will load a Highland army of 2000 in one episode, and -a Viking raid will also be represented. The total expenditure will bo £15,000, and it is hoped to realise £50,000 for a dental hospital. The pageant may later go to America, where New York business men are anxious to witness it.
