It is understood that it will be announced shortlv that Colonel Ernest Crutchlev, C.E.8., Acting Finance Officer of the Overseas Settlement Department, has been appointed to .succeed Mr William Bankes Amcry, representative of the British Government in Australia under the Empire _ Settlement Act. whose term expires, in November. Colonel Crutchley will accompany Lord Lovat, Parliamentary Under-Secretary for the Dominions Office, to Australia. Lord Lovat’s itinerary has not yet been settled. Ho hopes to leave about August.
