VALEDICTORY.

On the eve of her arjproaehin£c marriage Mi3S D. Christie, of the Feilding branch of Dglgety and Coy., Ltd., was met by the local stock agents and presented with a handsome silver afternoon tea service as a tangible expression of their appreciation of her courtesy and attention during her eight years in the employ of the firm. In making the presentation Nlr 1 1 . Gavui paid a warm tribute to Miss Christie s sterling qualities as an officer and a friend and expressed regret at her departuie. Nliss Christie suitably replied. A. AND P. ASSOCIATION. The annual general meeting, of the Podding A. and I\ Association will be held in the association’s office to-morrow night at 7.30 o’clock. ORCHESTRAL SOCIETY'S CONCERT. The box plan for Monday’s concert opens et tho Opera House to-morrow morning at 10 o’clock for honorary members. Ihe society's appeal for new subscribers has resulted in a fair increase and there wiU bo a big demand for scats to-morrow morning. The public will bo able to their seats on Saturday morning at 10 o’clock. The assisting artists at the concert will bo Miss Myro Sawyer, soprano, of Wellington, and Mr Prank Bryant, baritone, of the same city. Of Miss Sawyer great things havo been heard . and her press notices are particularly good. 1 Sho has, sung in operatic, oratorio and. concert productions in most .parts of the. Dominion and the society is fortunate in being able to engage her for Monday’s concert.
