SEVERE STORMS

BUSINESS PREMISES UNROOFED. TOWN FLOODED FOR SECOND TIME. (By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) Received February 6, 10.10 a.m. SYDNEY, Feb. 6. Severe wind and thunderstorms were experienced in the Riverina distriet during the week-end. For the second time within a few weeks the township of Henty was flooded. Two inches of rain fell in half an hour. Considerable damage was done to the roads. At Yerong Creek a tornado unroofed several business houses and telephone and telegraph lines were blown down. At Uranquinty roofs were lifted off sheds, trees were uprooted, and many fallowed paddocks were badly scoured. Fruit trees suffered much damage. A cloudburst near Corobimilla caused the washaway of between four and five chains of the railway.—Press Association.
