“WHITAKER 1928.”
Whitaker’s Almanack for 1928 is now in circulation. As usual it contains a vast amount of statistical information respecting all parts of the world as well as informative articles on a great variety of subjects. It is, in fact, a larger voluine than any of its predecessors, containing 916 pages. Many additions have been made in the present issue, including statistics relating to building societies, employment and unemployment, British and foreign trade, and other matters of general interest. Questions of the day are dealt with in short articles, and these are followed by annual summaries of proceedings in the House of Lords and House of Commons, science and inventions, art, music, the drama, legal notes, events of the year throughout the world, forms of government in and the chief features of the various States. It is a very useful publication that should find a place on the desk or every business man and on the bookshelf of those seeking knowledge of every-day interest.
