BULLS DEFEAT TAKARO.

BULLS, Dec. 19.

Weather conditions, were wretched for tennis on Saturday afternoon when representatives of Takaro (PaJmerston North) and Bulls Tennis Clubs mot on the local courts. The Visitors could only muster a weak team, and Bulls won comfortably by 21 sets to 3. Following are details of the play, Bulls players being mentioned first: Ladies’ singles.—Miss Walker V v. On Thursday evening the Rangitikei 1.0.0. F. Lodge meeting was well attended. It was proposed to hold the annual picnic on Boxing Day. The children’s festival and Christmas tree carnival was arranged for Monday evening. One new member was elected. Suppliers to the Parewanui Dairy Coy., Ltd., have been paid at the high rate of Is 8d per lb. for November supplies. During the month over 13jr tons of cheese were produced at the fectory. Schools of the district “broke-up” on Friday last. Sports and prize-givings took place at Ohakea and Glyneath Schools on Thursday, and at Parewanui on Friday. Bulls School dosed on Friday afternoon, the pupils being treated to afternoon tea, sweets. %to. While a service car was proceeding along the Foxton-Sanson Road shortly before noon on Sunday a blowout occurred, causing the vehicle to swerve into loose metal and capsize. Some half-dozen passengers and the driver escaped with scratches and a severe shaking l but the car was extensively damaged in its superstructure.
