COMPENSATION CLAIM.
ACTION AT AUCKLAND. Per,Press Association. AUCKLAND, Deo. 17. ■ Through their respective guardians, in the Arbitration Court to-day seven children, the offspring of four different women, claimed £936 compensation in respect of the death of their father, Pene Cassidy, bushfaller, who was accidentally killed at Maropia (near Dargaville) by a falling tree. The defendant was David 'vßerghan, contractor, of Kaihu. Deceased was only in the late thirties at the time of his death. Judgment was given for the amount paid into court, £BB4. with costs £lO. An order was made for the money to be paid to the Public Trustee with whom counsel is to confer to have the degree of dependency assessed.
