OVER A BANK
MISHAP TO PICNIC PARTY.
DEATH OP A BOY. > •' \ Per Press Association. TE KUITI, Dec. 19. As the result of a iti.e-pin becoming detached from the steering rod of' a lorry carrying a picnic party of parents and children totalling 28 went over a bank near Awakino on Sunday morning and fell 40 feet. As a result of injuries Max Bredenbeck, the son of F. Bredenbeck, the driver and owner of the lorry, died in hospital'this morning. Gordon Weir, aged eight, residing at Arapae, is in hospital with injured nibs and shock. Others also received minor injuries. The lorry escaped being hurled into the Awakino River through being caught on a protruding hank.
