ELDERLY PRINCESS.
EX-KAISER’S SISTER. AFFIANCED TO YOUNG RUSSIAN. LONDON, Oct. 16. Tho Daily Mail’s Berlin correspondent says that the ox-Kaiser’s sister, Princess Victoria Sehaumburg-Lippe, a widow, aged 61 years, reputedly eccentric and wealthy, recently contracted a ballroom friendship with M. Subow, a Russian, aged 26. M. Subow at first dressed well and was flush of money, but eventually he pawned his clothes and other property in order to subsist._ Ho then disappeared, after making a forlorn effort to restore his fortunes in cheap gaming clubs. Ho returned in a fortnight, resplendentlv tailored and bejewelled, and began plunging heavily at the gaming tables. The police, becoming suspicious, made injuiries and elicited the fact that M. Subow was affianced to Princess Victoria, who insisted that he dress and live in a 6tyle compatible with his position. The ex-Kai6er lias consented to the marriage, which will take place in November. —Sydney Sun cable.
