REMARKABLE WILL.

COMPETITIONS FOR WOMEN. Received October 18, 12.20 p.m. SYDNEY, Oct. 18. Much interest was evinced at the auction sale of the Bringenbong estate, in the Albury district, comprising 23,282 acres, owing to the remarkable will of its late owner, Mr Peter S. Mitchell.

The will provides that the whole of the proceeds of the estate, after making provision for the widow, shall be applied to the inauguration of competitions among women to establish the best types of both sexes. The competitions are of the most elaborate character and when entered upon are bound to attract world-wide interest on account of their originality. The sale of the estate provides ample funds for the trustees to carry out the provisions of the will.

Bidding ceased at £14,00Q at which figure the property was withdrawn. — Press Association.
