ABORIGINES FIGHT.

DISPUTE OVER LUBRA. PERTH, Oct. 16. A fierce battle took place between rival tribes of aboriginals on the Soondadoo Plain in the far north-west when a quarrel developed between two members of the rival factions over the possession of a Lubra. A trial of strength and skill between the two men to decide who should possess her failed of decisive result, and then the two tribes commenced to fight. Flights of spears were hurled in the air and one native was killed and many seriously wounded before the melee ended.

The police later arrived at the scene, but were unable to gain any information as members of the warring tribes had taken to the bush. — Press Association.
