WELLINGTON COMPETITIONS. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Oct. IC. The Wellington cricket season opened yesetrday in fine but xvindy xveather. Senior championship results xvere as folloxv:
Midland 140 (Baker 56, Grant 31) v. Institute 5b for one xvicket (Foley not out 24). For Institute Massey took three xvickets for 30 runs, Baumber txvo for 17 and Foley two for 16. Thorndon 130 (Roberts 47, Badcoek 40) v. Wellington, 50 for no xvickets (Airey not out 34). For Wellington Craig took four xvickets for 15, C. Connor three for 25, Cousins three for 28. Kilbirnie 95 (J. Kershaw 36 not out) x r . Old Boys 115 for three xvickets (W. Dustin 55, IC. Tucker not out 19). For Old Boys Lambert took three xvickets for 19.
Petone 151 (Findlayson 55) v. Y.M.C.A., one xvicket for 14 runs. For Y.M.C.A. Boxvyer took txvo xvickets for 5 runs.
Hutt 207 (Tattersall 120 not out, Nunn 35) v. University four xvickets for 16 runs. For University McLeod took five xvickets for 49.
