LOAN FOR AUSTRIA.
RECONSTRUCTION PURPOSES
RUGBY, Oct. 13
In London yesterday the committee of guarantor States of the Austrian construction' loan decided to give Austria authority to raise a loan for productive purposes up to about £21,000,000. The object for which the loan may be used is the increase of electrification and other developments of State railways, the provision of underground cables, and improvements in postal and telegraph services. Gratifying statistics showing the recovery of Austria 'were cited.—British official wirelss. MORE FOREIGN ISSUES. BRAZILIAN AND POLISH. Received October 15, 1.5 p.m. RUGBY, Oct. 14. In a quarter of an hour yesterday the British portion of the Brazilian loan, amounting to £7,000,000, was over-sub-scribed at least five times.
Another foreign loan is expected next week from Poland. It is for the purpose of establishing Polish national finances and national currency. The English portion will bo for £2,000,000, issued in 7 per cents, at 92. —British official wireless.
