IMPRESSIVE STATEMENT. “WHERE IS QUEENSLAND?” LONDON Sept. 6. At the Trades Union Congress at Edinburgh, Mr Pollitt, in demanding a survey of the whole of trade unionism, declared that the need to clear up its relation to the Labour Party, was illustrated by the present strike in Australia, Mr Thomas, rising impressively, said: “That dispute is in New Zealand.” The former Secretary for the Colonies, embarrassed, paused in the midst of roars of laughter and cries of “Where is Queensland?” and hurriedly sat down. —A. and N.Z. cable.
