HEAVY WITHDRAWALS. FIGURES FOR JUNE QUARTER. (By Telegraph.—Special to Standard.) WELLINGTON, Sept. 2. During the ended June 30 last there were heavy withdrawals from the Post Office Savings Bank, the excess of over deposits amounting to £745,050. Only one office, that at Westport, showed an excess of deposits over withdrawals, the amount in this case being £3892. The excess of withdrawals in each of the four cities was as follows: Auckland, £105,833 ; Christchurch, £77,826; Dunedin, £103,743; Wellington, £76,505. Other large excesses over deposits for the quarter were as follow: —New Plymouth, £66,314 ; Palmerston North, £61,715; Wanganui, £60,934.
