By running, at Buhvavo, 60 miles in seven hours, 33 minutes 45 seconds, Arthur Newton broke the world’s record for the distance by 49 minutes five seconds. The International Amateur Athletic Federation adopted a resolution regretting the Olympic Committee’s decision regarding payments and warned athletes throughout the n orld that anybody receiving payment for broken timo for any sport is debarred from participation in the events under tho federation’s jurisdiction.—A. and N.Z. cable.
