OBSTRUCTION ON LINE.

TWO MEN ARRESTED. \ Per Press Association. GISBORNE, June 16. The discovery of an obstruction on the railway line at Otoko early this week has led to tho arrest of two men at Whakatano charged with interfering with the property of the Railway Department, and they are to appear at Gisborno to-morrow.

Th 6 obstruction found on the lino comprised spikes ordinarily used for securing rails to sleepers and was eufficiently large to dorail the engine had it not been discovered.

Tho two men charged with the offence were passing through Poverty Bay afoot and are believed to be identical with two men seen walking along the railway line near the spot where the spikes wero found on the line.
