LADIES’ ASSOCIATION. . A meeting of the executive of the Manawatu Ladies’ Hockey Association was held last night. In tne absence ot tho president. Mr It. L. C. Aitchison, Mr H. D. Milne presided. Others present were Messrs Vasey, lozer, Broughton, Blackbourn, Chapman and McDowell (secretary). On the matter of insurance a motion was carried empowering the secretary to write to the New Zealand Ladies' Hockey Association asking for further particulars of the scheme outlined by that body in a circular sent out last year. The Rosco Club wrote asking if a list of fixtures for all rounds could be [sent to it. it was also pointed out ! that the club members were not really ; strong enough to play in the senior | grade and if compelled to do so would I probably lose interest in hockeyv The I secretary was instructed to notify the Rosco Club that' the first round of the fixtures had already, been published in the Press, and that the second request could not, therefore, be acceded to. i The Men’s Hockey Association notified the willingness of members to cooperate in the June 3rd tournament. ----Received. I Mrs L. H. Collinson wrote acceptI ing office as vice-president and forwarded a donation of 10s 6d.—Received with thanks. . The Manawatu Football Association requested the Hockey Association to postpone any fixtures on June Ist because of the soccer match with the Canadians. —Held over. It was decided to postpone the June 3rd dance as the Anzac Hall could not be obtained on that night. In was also resolved to keep the credit balance, at present in the Manawatu Hockey Associaton’s savings bank account, in that account till all liabilities were paid. In connection with the June 3rd tournament it was decided that entries be not accepted unless entry fees were forthcoming. Referees for the first and second competition rounds were determined as follow:—Wednesday, May 4, C. anc. C. v. West End Old Girls at Sportsj ground, Mr Chapman; Foxton v. High School A at Sportsground. Mr Blackbourn; High School Old Girls v. I High School B, Mr Broughton. Saturday, May 7: Rcugotea v. Technical, at Rongotea, Mr Chapman; Bunn;*thorpe v. Rosco, at Bunnythorpe, Mr Roberts; High School Old Girls v. West. End Old Girls, at Sportsground, Messrs Broughton and Milne. Accounts amounting to £1 2s Gd | were passed for payment. MEETING OF MEN’S ASSOCIATION. i Mr J. V. Kvle presided over a meetI ing of the executive of the Manawatu. Hockey Association held last night. ; Woodville Club again wrote asking i for a reduction in fees, but it was decided to take no action until a Weodville delegate was appointed to the executive. Central Old Boys’ Club applied for affiliation, the request being granted. Messrs Anderson and Burgess were appointed representatives on the joint committco to deal with the June 3 tournament. , . The Manawatu Football Association wrote asking the Hockey Association to postpone fixtures on June 1 on account of tire soccer match against the Canadians. —The letter was received. It was resolved to grant representation to junior teams on the executive. The closing day for the entries for the Wednesday competition was fixed as May 12. Committees were set up as follow: Fixtures, the whole executive; postjionement, Messrs Kyle and Anderson; finance and entertainment, the whole executive. Mr Burgess was appointed sole selector of representative teams. The following team will represent C. and C. to-morrow at the Sportsground : —Miss M. Christensen (captain). Miss Ivingsbeer (2), Miss Gleeson, Miss V. Christensen, Miss G. Torstonson, Miss M. Cronin. Miss V. Cronin, Miss T. Hopkins, Mis 6V. Isaacs, Miss D. Floyd.
